Design That Solves Problems for the World’s Poor



I love this. As an aspiring furniture designer, I have had to come to terms with the idea that my work will serve no greater purpose than to make people's environments "pretty". This article reminded me that there is an alternative. I don't think I am practical enough to come up with usable designs, but I can at least focus on creations that help local communities and use recycled materials like http://northsouthproject.com/
