Camping

Last week, I went camping with the two best possible people. We were totally unprepared and so on the way we had to stop by Walmart and buy everything from a tent to skewers and then load it up into the itty bitty little car Kris borrowed for the trip. Suvash wouldn't let me buy bug spray, and for some strange reason, both guys pish poshed my request for sleeping bags - which meant all we had to sleep on was one sheet provided by moi.The actual campsite was a lot more organized than I think we expected, but it was still an incredibly beautiful place with tons of wild animals that kept creeping up to us. After the long drive from NY I think we all wanted to just relax for a bit - but luckily th guys put the tent up before we opened too many beers...
It was a lucky thing too, because no sooner was the tent up then it began to pour! I have never seen sooo much rain in my life. So, half an hour after having arrived, all three of us huddled around our miserable little campfire getting drenched by the rain.
It rained pretty much all night long, so we had no choice but to change into dry(ish) clothes and hide-out in the tent with a copious amount of beer. When we finally passed out, we all discovered the foolishiness of not having sleeping bags. The storm was so bad that at times it blew the tent almost flat onto us, and rain streamed in all night long.
We survived though and the next night was worth toughing out the storm. By then we had learnt our lesson and bought sleeping bags and the night was so mild and clear that we decided to take off the tent's rain cover and sleep under the stars. I can't describe how amazing it was to drift off the sleep under the night sky - I can't wait to do it again.
It was an idyllic night until Suvash thought we were being attacked by a pack wild deer and uttered an ear shattering scream at dawn.

I couldn't have wished for a better camping trip. I think we all needed it for different reasons and being there together brought all these different elements out of us.
While we started the trip relatively sane, by the end... I think we'd lost a few brain cells...

lol. That there was a loss of brain cells is evident from that last picture.
